On a lighter side: Venus Raj

For a while, let us forget about the hostage incident, and share the joy of the triumph of Venus Raj (4th runner-up, Miss Universe). Hoorah!

I found this REALLY funny video of four Filipino gays who had been watching the beauty pageant intently. Each had his own bets, and their every reaction is framed like in a slideshow. But all of them had one thing in common: they love Venus Raj and sincerely wish that she wins the crown! (I like Venus also; she has this fiery desire to win and seems a sincere and honest person, hence her answer in the Miss U question.)

Anyway, here’s the video from YouTube. If you’re the impatient type, start at 2:00 minutes, it’s the best part. But hey, the whole video is just 4 minutes, so if you want the whole light and funny experience, do watch it all. Enjoy!

people’s reactions to venus raj’s answer made me realize that we people really love drama. most people are anticipating raj will give something bad or dramatic, and when she answered there’s none at all, most people were disappointed. no? but you are probably right — maybe it was an honest answer.

(well, that, or she realized she could not explain in a minute or so whatever “major major problem” she had experienced. :-)

haha. at least, she didn’t try to invent something grand. and she wants to win in major way! haha. im starting to like this “major, major” thing. :)

I watched Umagang Kay Ganda earlier and they mentioned that “major major” means “bonggang bongga”. But I’m very proud of Venus!

I agree with Eks. She’s very young and probably do not have a major major mistake yet. Sabi ko nga sa kausap ko kahapon, seems like the viewers would prefer it better if she said that she aborted her baby when she was 14.

i agree. it was an honest answer, but being at that level, she could have taken that extra minute to think of her response. i really believe she could have taken the crown.

of course, i’m proud of her.
