Christmas Lagari
December 16, 2009After dinner with the family, at around 930 pm, from MOA, I crossed the long road of EDSA to get to Tomas Morato. I had to attend two parties, a Christmas party and an anniversary party, both in that area.
I was actually enjoying traveling alone. Driving relaxes me, especially when there is no traffic. Though it became so stressful when I took ONE wrong turn in EDSA, and I ended up losing about an hour to find a U-Turn back. And the people from the two parties are bombarding me with calls and texts. San ka na? Anong oras ka ba dadating? Punta ka ha, etc.
At around 11 pm, I met up with my brods and sisses, who by that time already seemed tipsy. I was so behind. But my blockmates in law school were persistently texting and calling, not to mention I asked some of my classmates to wait up for me. (I didn’t know we’d also be celebrating the fraternity and sorority anniversary last night). After 30 minutes or so, I told them I had to go, and that I’d follow them after the Christmas party. Of course, there’s the usual, sino ba mas mahal mo sa ‘min? Kinda touching actually, though it’s quite hard to reason why I also had to attend the party with my classmates.
Eventually, they let me go, so I went to this KTV bar at a sidestreet in Tomas Morato. The area was quieter because, instead of other bars with loud music, there were more manufactured homes in the area–only the singing voices of my drunken classmates can be heard on the streets.
When I arrived at past 12 am, I cannot remember how many asked me, bakit ngayon ka lang? Oh, no. I had to explain. again. Well, I did not. I went straight ahead to the KTV machine and punched in my favorite songs. Then, only my voice can be heard on the streets. haha.
But after 20 minutes or so, the brods and sisses were outside the bar. Nanunundo na agad. haha. I couldn’t leave right away; I just arrived. So I waited for others to leave first, then, when it seemed clear to go, I bade my classmates a merry Christmas, and transferred yet again to another bar. O di ba, lagari?
Last night was tiring, and I was actually hoping to enjoy both parties more. I hope there are more hours yesterday. But it’s fine. I am happy I got to celebrate with both of them. I hope we could get to celebrate again–preferrably on different dates.
:)
